AAEON Unveils Intel® Pentium® and Celeron® Processors N3000 (codename Braswell) based Hardware Solutions

(Taipei, Taiwan) June 2, 2015 —AAEON®, a major developer of industrial computing solutions, today unveils the upcoming GENE-BSW5 subcompact board and FWS-2260 network appliance, the company’s first two offerings with the latest Intel® SoC lineup.


Manufactured with the cutting-edge 14 nm process, power consumption of both products has been further reduced to 6W, as compared to 10W of their predecessors which utilizes the previous generation SoCs. Support for greater memory speeds and I/Os are also incorporated in the new chips to introduce some of today’s most wanted technological features to the mainstream market.

The GENE-BSW5 3.5’’subcompact board, successor to GENE-BT05, will be capable of handling 3 independent displays from the board’s HDMI, VGA, and LVDS options with the chip’s new graphical enhancements, improving upon the support for 2 displays of the older iteration. The chip’s support for more I/O also helped the new board to sport 6 COMs, 4 USB 3.0 and 1 USB 2.0 ports.

Also benefitting from the improved I/O support is the FWS-2260. Not only can more SATA and USB ports be incorporated, but the chip’s improved memory support also allows faster RAM to be used. The SoCs also come with enhanced security features that make network appliances a much more safe and secure equipment in an IoT environment.

AAEON AIOT-X1000 — AAEON’s first step into the Internet of Things

(Taipei, Taiwan) May 20, 2015 —AAEON®, a major developer of industrial computing solutions, releases the AIOT-X1000 subcompact board, the company’s debut into the burgeoning IoT market.

Referred to as “AAEON Internet of Things”, the AIOT-X1000 is powered by Intel’s Quark X1000 Series SoC’s to drive cost down while delivering substantial performance for interconnectivity between the broad array of devices in an IoT environment. The requirement for bringing all of these devices together also calls for rich I/O expansion, which is supported by LAN, USB, and RS-232/422/485 ports for wired connections and 2G/3G/4G, Bluetooth, Wifi, ZigBee and GPS when wires are less of a convenience.

A built in Analog-to-Digital Signal Converter provides for direct connection to common sensors, while the Digital I/O gives the user the ability to add multiple points of control. Access is provided by SPI and I2C interfaces as a means to increase functionality of the end device. Additionally, as an Intel® Gateway Solutions (Moon Island) product, which comprised of Wind River Linux Operating System and McAfee Embedded Security, this product is ready to deploy with support from some of the strongest contributors to the IoT ecosystem.

To meet the demands in a multitude of environmental conditions, the board incorporates AAEON’s unique Wide Temperature (WiTAS) Technology, supporting temperatures ranging from -20°C to 70°C. Four different enclosure designs are soon to be available to address various vertical market requirements: desktop or wall-mountable, DIN rail-mountable, IP67-certified and CAN Bus-enabled, extending implementation from factory floors to the outdoors, from automation to fleet management.

In collaboration with ASUS®, a world leader in Cloud Services, a complete IoT package is available to not only collect your valuable data, but to handle all the processing, analysis and storage as well. Available application SDK’s to get your raw data from the sensor or input to a customizable dashboard application will make it possible to achieve the benefits of the IoT in as short a time as possible. The PICO IMX6 is a compact fanless board that finds its application in different industries, from factory/industrial automation to test & measurement and machine control applications. The PICO IMX6 is an AAEON first, it is the first time AAEON produced such a small board with a processor included on the board.

With on-board memory design, the board is able to withstand high impact shocks and vibrations. Furthermore, it supports USB On-The-Go allowing the device to act as a host, allowing other USB devices like flash drives or keyboards to be attached. One of the greatest features of the PICO IMX6 is that it is equipped with eMMC on board, on which customer can store their data (including OS) directly on the PC to have faster access without the need to connect external device / storage.


Optionally the board is able to support a 3G data connection (via a 3G module and SIM-card slot) to ensure seamless connections anywhere you go.

AAEON’s Latest FWS-7250 Network Appliance to Target SME Demographic

(Taipei, Taiwan) April 22nd, 2015 — AAEON®, a major developer of industrial computing solutions, releases the FWS-7250 network appliance, specifically targeted towards the SME demographic.

Powered by the Intel®AtomTME3845or Celeron® J1900 a processor, the appliance delivers an impressive price to performance ratio that stands out among similar devices in the market. The Intel® Atom™ processor E3800 product family is the first system-on-chip (SoC) designed for intelligent systems, delivering outstanding performance while operating in an extended range of thermal conditions. The processors’ low energy consumption also helps to bring down the thermal design power (TDP) to 10W, one of the lowest in the entry level rackmount network appliance sector.
